Project Me

So this was the Monday project for last Monday. Since you are just now reading it or seeing the post I clearly did not complete it for last Monday. I am a Monday behind right now.

These are some questions that the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans proposed we answer for the new Rethink Your Shrink challenge. I have been thinking about these questions for a week and I am just now getting a foot hold on my answers.

What in 2009 did not work?
Making excuses and giving up did not work. Whether they are real world excuses and/or reasons for why I didn't make it to the gym or that I didn't eat well, it just plain didn't work. I would be sick one or two days in a row with a seizure or a migraine and pretty much write off the rest of the week. So whatever I did do in the gym or to eat right was out the window the minute I gave up.

What were my weight loss goals?

I wanted to lose about 10 - 15 pounds and tone up my body and get rid of the baby weight. I did weigh about 144 and I did get down to 134. But it simply happened from eating right 2 days a week and maybe working out 2 days a week. But it didn't take a whole lot of effort.

Did I fall short of achieving those goals?

I fell short of the 10 - 15 pounds in that I didn't tone my body. You can loose some of the fat but if it isn't toned it isn't pretty.

What were and are my biggest obstacles?
My health is my biggest obstacle. I am so sick of it keeping me down. I really need to focus on balancing my mind and body on a daily basis and stop giving up just because I am sick or something.

What was my “rock bottom” moment?
Almost every other week felt like a rock bottom moment. Having seizures, and migraines is difficult to learn to deal with and make a part of my life. I am also a first time mother and it has been hard to learn to be a mother in many aspects.

What are my bad habits?

I don't always eat because I am sick or I don't feel like eating. When I am depressed I LOVE gooey fudge brownies and ice cream. I ask my hubby to stop by the store to get these items so I don't feel guilt if I were to buy them. I totally make the excuse of "Well my husband brought it home." But he also didn't put the brownie mix in a pan and bake them, put it in a bowl with some vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Or did he?

What has worked with my goals?
Well, that one is a hard question because I honestly don't know that I have done much. When I do get to the gym and eat right, I feel great and I have some motivation.

So here it is, I know what went wrong and now it is time to fix that. I have no idea how to even begin trying. I think that I will have to work on that post another time.

25 Random Things About Me!

I was looking back at this post from FB and thought I would post it for my friends on my blog!

1. I have a 'Kiss' tongue. I can touch my tongue to the tip of my nose and my chin. I could pick my nose if I wanted to but that is gross.

2. There are two Summers. Business Summer, who is straight to the point, smart, and has a lot of confidence. Day-to-day Summer, who is a dork and loves to have fun!

3. My most memorable vacation was going to Mexico for Derek and I's honeymoon. Going to a beach is a true vacation for me.

4. My favorite thing to do in the summer is to go hiking.

5. In 4th grade I came in second place for the whole school for the "Jump for Your Heart" jump rope contest.

6. In 3rd grade I won a contest on channel 2 to take 10 friends to Snow White on ice. My cousin, Lynnette, called me to tell me that I had won. It was the most fun I ever had.

7. I didn't get my drivers license until I was 17 because I felt I wasn't ready to drive.

8. My first job was technically, being a waitress at a horrible restaurant but it lasted only about a month and I can't remember the name of that dumb place. The job I tell everyone that was my first job was working at World Savings and Loan as a teller. I made great money (for a high school student) and I only worked 3 hours every other day and half day on Saturday. That was a good job!

9. Derek and I never wanted to be parents. When I found out I was pregnant after being admitted to the hospital after having a seizure, I had a hard time with the surprise pregnancy. Now that I am a Mom, I love it more than I thought that I would.

10. What attracted me to Derek was his sense of humor. We still crack each other up all the time. We really are best friends.

11. I cry at Sylvan Learning Center commercials.

12. I haven't had a sister in my life for over 3 years on a technical sense. She left her family long before that and it kills me every day that she won't come home.

13. One thing I want to do before I die is bungee jump, para-sail and travel somewhere out of the country like Holland.

14. My favorite food is beef! Fillet minion, medium rare. But more rare than medium. Sorry but rare to medium rare is the only way a really good piece of meat is supposed to be made.

15. I can't stand people who do not know how to accelerate on a entrance ramp on a highway.

16. My favorite game is naked twister. No really, I love the game taboo. I am hand and eye challenged when it comes to video games.

17. I love to sleep. I wake up and think about sleep.

18. I have only had two nick names in my life, lashes, and sumsi.

19. I love SUV's and I swear I will not own a mini-van. Sorry mini-van friends. I love you but I can't stand your mini-vans.

20. The first time I saw a guy in a speedo was when my best friend in high school, Christy, invited her boy friend over to our house to go swimming. Speedo's really are a no, no. I don't care how hot a man is.

21. I secretly love winter more than summer time!

22. If I have the choice between chocolate and vanilla, I will always choose vanilla.

23. I have to smell everything that I am going to eat, drink, or put on my body. Yep, I even smell my deodorant.

24. One of the most uncomfortable and awkward moments was walking on to a topless beach in the Caribbean with my parents. WEIRD!

25. I love anything to do with interior design. Whenever I walk into a home or a place of business I think about how it could be improved.

New Year, New Blog!

I am so excited to get started on the new Shrinking Jeans challenge! Today I worked out despite getting this cold from my hubby and my toddler. I only worked out for 30 minutes but I did it. I also ate well. However, the soy latte probably had some calories. I have no idea how many and maybe I should start figuring out that stuff. Wait, wait, doesn't my wii do that? Obviously I haven't figured that out yet.

Wii is still telling me that I am unbalanced. Whatev. I will get better the more I practice. I did a body flow class last month and I was all over the place trying to do all the yoga poses. I did the running on wii and actually tripped and fell. Wii should have told me I was blonde too! As I am writing this my eyes are burning. I am so VERY tired I think I better go have my emergen-c. I really want to be well to celebrate the New Year with my good friends tomorrow. Oh, crap! I still have to wrap some Christmas presents. Gotta run to get dinner ready too.
